Tristan Macherel, formerly the executive creative director of Landor Paris and Geneva, has been promoted to executive creative director for Landor Europe. He will be responsible for leading design and creative output for Landor’s studios in London, Hamburg, Milan, Paris, and Geneva.
Macherel has spearheaded creative excellence in Paris and Geneva since joining Landor in 2012. His ability to combine brand strategy and design will drive creative standards across the region. Under his lead, Landor has won many creativity awards including seven Design Lions at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, eight D&DA Pencils (five Graphite and three Wood), one Grand Prix and one Gold at the French Grand Prix Stratégies du Design, and two Silver Clio Awards. Macherel was also president of the design jury at Cannes in 2016.
Commenting on his new role, Macherel reflected, “I am thrilled to take on the role of executive creative director for Landor’s European offices. We are in an incredible position to create more comprehensive, cross-regional solutions than ever before, using digital technology, integrated teams, and a rigorous approach to push creative boundaries and transform brands. I’m very excited about the fantastic work to come.”
Luc Speisser, president of Landor Europe, commented on Macherel’s new role: “Tristan is without a doubt the right person to help drive Landor Europe’s creativity forward and take it to new heights. His talent has contributed to propel Landor Paris to be one of the top design studios in the world. Extending his reach across the rest of our European network, especially in collaboration with our chief creative officer Peter Knapp, creates an unparalleled design team in the region.”
