When butter manufacturers like Arla Foods extended their market position in this segment at the expense of margarine, Unilever fought back with the launch of an innovative mélange product targeting butter users. Instead of convincing the target group – European mothers – by explaining its difference to other mélanges, Rama addressed the deeply rooted wants, care and convenience, by telling the story of “Rama with Butter” in the most emotional and simple way: a story of love. |
