STOPLINE is an international production company based in Portugal operating largely in the Portuguese, Brazilian and Spanish media markets.
Founded in 2004, by the film-maker Leonel Vieira, Stopline produces movies, TV series and advertisement TV spots to Iberian and South American markets. In 13 years, more than 30 films, television series, and about 200 comercials were produced.
Stopline strategically works with Stopline Media Brazil, a collaborating Brazilian production company also co-founded by shareholder Leonel Vieira.
In 2013 the company coproduced ‘RED BRAZIL’, a featured mini-series with an estimated budget over 10 million euros, about French occupation in Brazil in 1564. Filmed in English, the film starred Stellan Skarsgard and Joaquim de Almeida in the lead roles. A coproduction with CONSPIRAÇÃO FILMES (Brazil), a PAMPA PRODUCTION (France) and CD FILM (Canada).
Stopline also produced a Portuguese comedic trilogy based on the most famous black and white movies of the 1940s. Directed by Leonel Vieira, “PÁTIO DAS CANTIGAS” became Portugal’s greatest box office success with a record of over 610,000 spectators.
"ALGUÉM COMO EU" (filmed in Lisbon and Rio de Janeiro, in co-production with GULLANE) and "PERDIDOS" (filmed in Madeira Island) are his two most recent feature films. In the last year, Stopline has also produced an investigation and criminal series called "FILHA DA LEI", - (20x42') and "PAÍS IRMÃO" - (18X42') both exhibiting in RTP channel.
Presently, a new TV serie is being developed, also for RTP, with a released date planned for 2018.
