Story The TANK ad was shot in the University of Maryland’s Neutral Buoyancy Research Facility, which is one of only 2 tanks used by NASA for space research. It simulates weightlessness, allowing scientists to engage in research dedicated to making it easier and safer to work in space. The tank contains 378 000 gallons of water. It’s HUGE. The creative team was aided by the University of Maryland research faculty, including some PhD’s at the university. The photographer and assistant had to get scuba certified and get a first aid qualification in order to be allowed to shoot in the tank.
Philosophy This campaign is about making heroes of the people who design and create Lenovo products: the world’s best engineers. It is because of them that Lenovo ThinkPad has won more design awards than any other company.
Problem The new world isn’t being built by movie stars or football players, pop singers or supermodels. It’s being built by scientists and researchers and engineers. They’re the people who should be celebrated. The people who are really doing something to make our lives better.
