Tagline SYDNEY FROM THE TEA FOLK BREAKS INTO SONG IN LATEST TETLEY AD BY DARE
Philosophy Dare has launched its latest TV ad for Tetley featuring the Tea Folk, featuring Sydney singing an ode to the thing he loves most in the world, a cup of Tetley Tea. The tune he sings is ‘Just the way you are’ by Billy Joel, the classic 70s love song. But in true Sydney style, he cannot quite hit all the notes and he forgets some the words, though the loving sentiment still runs true.
The 40s spot is the fourth ad in the Tea Folk come-back series, which launched in September last year and saw the characters return as hand-drawn 2D characters.

Problem Dare has launched its latest TV ad for Tetley featuring the Tea Folk, to broaden and deepen Tetley’s appeal amongst the nation’s tea drinkers.
Result The campaign sees Sydney singing an ode to the thing he loves most in the world, a cup of Tetley Tea.
Their return follows years of enquiries from the tea-loving public demanding the lovable Yorkshire stars return. To help keep fans up to date with all the latest Tea Folk news the gang have gone digital with their very own website, twitter and Facebook accounts. Fans will be able to have a chat with Gaffer, watch exclusive videos, enter competitions and get a little insight into what's going on when the Tea Folk are not on TV.
The new Tea Folk were drawn by Richard Ollive, who worked on the Tea Folk ads in the 80s and 90s having taken over from their very first animator, Tony Cattaneo. Ollive worked alongside The Mill where 3D and 2D animation were woven seamlessly into the live action.
The latest ad breaks on 1st October, and will be supported by online advertising.
