Story | An affectionate dad walks home with his son. After a bit of banter he asks: “So, good week with your mother?” We realised that the kid’s parents are divorced. The boy replies: “Yeah, I guess.” The dad follows up with: “What did she cook for you?” Because he’s, you know, French. The kid winces. “Macaroni.” The dad is horrified. “Every night?” Energised, he cooks a fantastic meal. Cut to the same kid with his mother, a few days later. “Every night?” she asks, incredulously. “Yep,” says the boy. “Macaroni.” Now we see his strategy. Cooking is caring. |
