Peru is the country with the highest rate of child abuses cases in Latin America, and still lots of the cases go unreported over fear. Save the Children wants to change this reality, that's why the agency McCann Lima created “#SPEAKFORTHEM”, the campaign in which peruvian celebrities posted their own videos through the trendy app: Dubsmash. The peculiar thing about this dubsmash videos, is that instead of dubbing the voice of characters in movies or funny cartoons, this time the artists dubbed children’s voices telling that they had been abused. The videos ended with a message: #SPEAKFORTHEM. LET'S STOP CHILD ABUSE. Save the Children.
Philosophy
#SPEAKFORTHEM. LET'S STOP CHILD ABUSE.
Problem
Peru is the country with the highest rate of child abuses cases in Latin America, and still lots of the cases go unreported over fear.
Result
In a short time more celebrities and people embraced the campaign. The hashtag was in all networks (TT) and media: 12 million people were reached and 6.2 million of free media impressions. But the main thing, the reports of child abuse increased, because now more peruvians "speak for them".
