Positions

Global and North America CEO
Mirum Agency
February 2015 - Present (4 years 5 months)
I am the Global and North America CEO of Mirum, a global digital agency that was named a Visionary in the 2016 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Global Digital Agencies. In this role, I oversee Mirum’s overall growth strategy, including P&L responsibility, managing key client relationships and aligning resources to connect team and serve clients globally in 20 countries, with more than 46 offices and 2,200 professionals.

Prior to this, I was the co-founder and CEO of Digitaria, one of the 11 agencies that merged to form Mirum. From Digitaria’s early days as a boutique digital creative shop, I worked to add and/or acquire divisions in the areas of analytics, SEO, sports, health and wellness, digital marketing and advertising. With my three partners, we created a genuinely full-service integrated digital agency that blended memorable creative design with innovative technology and services, while building a culture that inspired entrepreneurship and innovation. I also spearheaded both the company’s acquisition of technology services firm Console in 2006 and its acquisition by WPP, the world's largest marketing services holding company.

In early 2013, I was named a LinkedIn Influencer, and wrote a bi-weekly column for the world’s leading professional occupation social network. I am a regular speaker at industry events including WebSummit, The Webbys, CES, Tealium's Digital Velocity and Adobe Summit.

I keep my entrepreneurial spirit alive by teaching at San Diego State University, serving on the board of the Economic Development Council and participating in the development of the San Diego non-profit organizations La Jolla Playhouse and Invisible Children.

In summer of 2010, Digitaria was acquired by WPP, the world's largest marketing services holding company. We were soon strategically aligned with JWT, the world's best-known agency network. Since that day, the agency has tripled in size, adding numerous blue-chip clients and opening new or absorbing JWT offices.

Digitaria
January 1997 - February 2015 (18 years 1 month)
Dan Khabie has been CEO of Digitaria since co-founding the company with its CCO Daiga Atvara in 1997. From an original San Diego staff of eight, Digitaria now employs more than 250 professionals in six cities and is among the most highly regarded digital design, strategy, technology, marketing and data firms in the U.S.

With his three partners, Dan has sought to create a genuinely full service integrated digital agency that blends memorable creative design with innovative technology and services, while building a culture that inspires entrepreneurship and innovation.

In 2006, Digitaria acquired Console, a technology services firm, which brought the agency’s COO Doug Hecht and CTO Chuck Phillips into the fold, and helped spark the company’s record revenue run: From 2006-2009, Digitaria experienced four consecutive years of 100+ % revenue growth, including during a year of deep recession. Since then, as the company reached a point of significant critical mass, the firm’s growth has held in a steady 35-60% range.
