Michael Winterbottom’s films represent some of the most striking and also varied work from any British director.
Born in Blackburn, Michael began his career in television before moving into film and most recently commercials. He is most recognised for his TV & film work with Steve Coogan (Alan Partridge, The Trip, Te Look of Love) and has received numerous BAFTA Awards and nominations, Three of his films – ‘Welcome to Sarajevo’, ‘Wonderland’ and ’24 Hour Party People’ – have been nominated for the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. 
Michael has made an easy transition into commercials with his debut ad ‘There’s A Beer For That’ for Britain’s Beer Alliance through Sapient Nitro, which kicked off their 2014 marketing campaign and focused on the diversity and versatility of beers and matching them to a wide range of food and different meals.
Most recently Michael has directed feature films ‘Face of an Angel’ starring Cara Delevingne, Kate Beckinsale and Daniel Bruhl and ‘The Emperor’s New Clothes’ starring Russel Brand.
