Observational. Wry sense of humour. Beautiful photography.
Chris Goulder demonstrated his directing prowess early on, during his time at Central St Martins his VH1 ident won MTV’s annul competition and the promo he directed prior to graduation was selected for the D&AD young blood show.
Following St. Martins, Chris went to Watford to complete the ad course. After a number of years of working as a creative he realised it was time to go back to his true calling of directing.
An avid snowboarder, Chris used sponsorship from brands as an opportunity to head out to the mountains, where he’d build jumps and film his friends flying over them. His films were then distributed on the covers of leading British snowboard magazines.
Notably he recently won Best New Director at The British Arrows and Kinsale award for his branded content short film Deliveries Before Dawn which he wrote shot and directed in a week. Chris’ wry sense of humour comes across in his filmic style; using a mix of professional actors and non-professionals acting to create a subtle comedy in a semi-documentary format. The short film was featured on the front page of Shots and received five stars on David Reviews… Multiple viewings are advised!
Chris is in the midst of shooting 24 Christmas films for Cadbury's Cadvent with Fallon London. Children across the country sent in their wishes for their loved ones with real surprises being granted each day in the lead up to Christmas.
Chris has been creating opportunities to direct branded content via Bare Films including an award winning film for Shell, following craft entrepreneurs in London for Courier Magazine and shooting a beautiful film for Ballymore to showcase their latest jewel in their crown Embassy Gardens.
Chris’ love of Snowboarding has just been brought back to the forefront as he’s currently working on a Snowboarding documentary with the first ever British Paralympic Snowboard Team for the 2018 Winter Paralympics.
