My role was to support the agency in executing the overall marketing & new business strategy including building brand reputation and awareness of Isobar with senior marketers, procurement, intermediaries, other agencies, media owners and journalists via PR, marketing comms, events and social media. Whilst at Isobar, we had a 69% pitch conversion rate and won 9 new clients in 11 months.

My principle responsibilities for marketing focused on building the agency’s online and offline presence. This involved updating our website and social feeds; analysing online traction with various tracking and social listening tools (Meltwater Social Buzz, Google Analytics); working with key agency spokespeople to develop regular thought pieces for trade industry publication; creating and owning our blog via WordPress; developing a newsletter; identifying speaking opportunities at conferences/events; developing and maintaining UK case studies and show reels; taking ownership of other branded assets and collateral working with in house designers and third party printers; supporting the PR & Marketing Manager on press releases, award submissions and updating journalists; updating UK website content and overseeing ongoing development of the website; and managing internal and external events.

On the business development side my role included: leading and managing agency new business pitches (from writing and editing pitch submissions / RFIs to guiding presentations and rehearsals; writing and tailoring credentials; maintaining intermediary profiles and relationships; researching brands and clients; devising a prospecting strategy and identifying new business opportunities; analysing results and compiling reports for new business strategy; maintaining a database of prospects; working with senior management to source new leads and convert those into pitches.

This hybrid role gave me a solid understanding of how global advertising agencies operate. In my day to day I supported the needs of 75+ offices internationally, and was the go-to person for contacts in these markets, which demanded a thorough knowledge of the network and strong working relationships with regional MDs/CEOs. I worked in a close-knit marketing team and was responsible for I was also an integral part of the new business team, supporting global and regional pitches with design for pitch collateral and theatre production, and formatting presentation documents.

Whilst at Maxus, I was chiefly responsible for: updating online social channels (YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, website content), curating digital campaigns to share the agency´s latest news, thought pieces and content, completing global RFI documents for pitches, developing video, visual and written case studies for awards platforms such as Cannes Lions showcasing the best work from across the network maintaining client databases and contacts list rolling out new business tools across our network of 75 offices, designing pitch collateral and prospecting materials briefing suppliers for internal comms/branding (e.g. sub brand logos), monitoring PR coverage and liaising with our PR company, measuring and analysing our online presence and reporting our traction and coverage (using Meltwater Buzz, Campaign Monitor).
