I joined Business & Finance magazine as a journalist in 1988 and over the next ten years, I covered most of the major business stories that unfolded in Ireland, picking up several awards along the way.

In 1994, I was appointed assistant editor of the magazine and in 1997 I was appointed editor. Then in 1998 I was appointed as managing editor and CEO. When the company was sold in 2000, I left to set up my own media consultancy business and worked with a number of Irish and international blue-chip companies in the UK, USA and Middle East, advising them on their media and content and strategies,

Upon leaving DCU, I joined New Hibernia magazine as a reporter and worked on a number of high profile stories/investigations, many of which made national headlines and triggered the resignation of a Government minister and an inquiry into abuse at a children's residential home in Wicklow.
