Story In order to raise awareness and attract funds to sustain surgeries for children born with congenital heart defects, we created The Heart Sewing Kit. Instead of sending an sms and forgetting about the cause in 2 seconds, donors got a kit consisting of a wooden brooch, a needle, red thread and instructions for sewing. People bought it from the online shop, sewed it by themselves and wore it afterwards.We launched an online shop on February 24th –Romanian Valentine’s Day, inviting people to buy and gift a heart that is not a cliché in the “month of love”, The Heart Sewing Kit containing the wooden brooch, a red thread, a needle and instructions for sewing. All profit was donated to the charity and people became artisan surgeons saving babies lives through sewing and wearing their brooches. People sewed wooden hearts for surgeons to sew real babies hearts.
