Michael Aimette

Chief Creative Officer at FCB New York
New York, United States

About me

Michael is the Co-CCO at FCB New York, partnering with Gabriel Schmitt to drive creativity and uphold the FCB global promise of thriving Never Finished platforms in the New York market. His journey in the advertising world began at BBDO NY, where he orchestrated the transformation of the GE brand globally. By seamlessly blending storytelling and substantial platform ideas, Michael created business-changing solutions for the multinational corporation, simplifying its complexity into a comprehensible narrative.

Leading a 26-interoffice agency group, including Almap, AMV, Colenso, Clemenger, and Saatchi & Saatchi London, he spearheaded and collaborated on all creative aspects of Visa's global campaigns. Over his 8-year tenure at BBDO NY, Michael established a distinctive culture, cultivating a micro-agency within the larger BBDO model. His 35+ person team consistently delivered highly creative and effective work for clients such as KIND Snacks, American Family Insurance, Belvedere vodka, Mars brands, AT&T, FedEx, and contributed to BBDO's global Ford win.

Having worked at BBDO in various roles since 1995, Michael's extensive career also includes being the ECD at atmosphereBBDO and freelancing across NYC. His creative journey began as a copywriter at the now-defunct Jordan/McGrath and even as a dishwasher at Friendly’s.

A recipient of numerous industry accolades, Michael has earned awards such as Cannes, One Show, D&AD, Epica, AICP, Webbys, Clios, Effies, and an Emmy nomination for his GE TV spot "Childlike Imagination." He has served on various global creative juries, emphasizing the importance of impartial voting.

Beyond advertising, Michael ventured into filmmaking in 2010, writing and directing the independent feature film TURNING GREEN, starring Oscar-winner Timothy Hutton. The film received theatrical distribution, featured on Showtime, and is available on all streaming platforms. His second feature film, MIX26, is currently in pre-production.
