th2ng's Yannakis Jones gleans advice from four great innovators for The Guardian

th2ng’s Yannakis Jones has collaborated with The Guardian to create a series of online video interviews with some of the greatest living minds in the UK to learn about their unique journeys to success.

In a series of short films called 'Where I Went Right' The Guardian selected innovators from multiple disciplines, including inventor of the World Wide Web Sir Tim Berners-Lee, renowned explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes, globally recognized space scientist Maggie Aderin-Pocock, and celebrated anthropologist Alice Roberts, to tell their inspirational stories. The films are devised to advise and inspire the next generation of pioneers, and are currently available on a specially created microsite on The Guardian.

The interviews can be watched in their entirety, or in small segments, which can then be shared on social media.

“This was a rewarding and insightful project to work on” said director Yannakis Jones. “If only we had career advisors like this, when we were younger. While we faced the challenge of coordinating with the extremely tight diaries of these interviewees (one interview was literally squeezed in between on-stage presentations), but I was keen to keep a premium feel, as apposed to the more typical ‘hotel room press junket’.

The films detail each party’s journey toward becoming a pioneer, providing self-narrated wisdom to guide future generations. Jones hoped to create an engaging series that will motivate viewers, and remind them that in life, every second counts.
