Singer songwriter Marika Hackman's latest single 'Animal Fear' was released this week, with the suitably werewolf-esque video directed by th2ng's very own blood-friendly director James Partridge.
The video, shot with vintage VHS loveliness, begins and ends in very different circumstances with Marika gradually metamorphosing from grungy basement guitarist to bloodthirsty werewolf one nail and fang at a time. Recent musical collaborator Laura Marling joins in as bassist, but is first to be eaten alive by the Marikawolf (The drummer unfortunately gets it next).
The video is currently doing the rounds on music blogs, music websites and social media with
I-d magazine notably giving the 'lo-fi horror' video its 'world wide premiere' and
DIY magazine deciding to focus on the 'bonkers' and 'darkness' of the video in their respective write-up. For further reviews and articles that feature James' latest piece of work, please scroll down below.
