Story | Gerard de Thame Recreates Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade for Jeep/Ram Black Friday Event New York, NY (November 21, 2017) – Integrated content studio Humble recently teamed up with Doner to produce two spots for the Jeep/Ram Black Friday & Big Finish Event. Directed by the legendary Gerard de Thame, the spots “Parade” and “Grandmother’s House,” highlight family traditions and the trucks that make them special. For Ram “Parade,” de Thame tells the story of a real-life float driver as he prepares for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The piece opens with mysterious, beautiful shots of New York early in the morning and unfolds along with him as he journeys through the city. In the final moments before the reveal, we see the driver’s young son and family cheering him on. De Thame and the Humble team carefully recreated a classic scene from the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade featuring none other than Tom Turkey, the parade’s oldest, most famous float. Through meticulous art direction, casting of real Macy’s employees, and some CGI magic done by Humble’s sister post production company Postal, the spot brings viewers to the heart of the action along with our hero driver. The campaign marks the third collaboration between de Thame and FCA since his signing at Humble in 2016. “It was great to be back filming in New York - love the city! And really cool to be shooting again for Ram and the guys at Doner and FCA," said de Thame. "The challenge of the spot was to recreate the parade with a mix of live action and SFX, get great car shots and weave in a human story… all stuff I love to do!” |
