Story | While many people think the fight against Ebola ended long ago, U.S. government and humanitarian relief organizations like the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and International Medical Corps are still fighting to end the most devastating Ebola outbreak in history. In support of governments across West Africa, more than 10,000 health care and humanitarian aid workers continue to push to stop Ebola from spreading and rebuild regions devastated by the outbreak. Though our efforts are far from over, West Africa is already on the road to recovery. Today, children are returning to school, parents are getting back to work, markets are open and families have food to eat. Health systems are being strengthened, new protocols and curriculums are being implemented in schools, and local food production is being stimulated. The response happening now is just as critical as it was at the height of the crisis. And it also still needs our attention.
