| Story | Public land that City Hall had designated as a space for a future park in Bucharest, Romania, had been illegally rezoned overnight as land for apartment buildings. To fight this abuse, our small nonprofit used the opportunity of a local election to organize ‘The Army of Toys’: an event that asked residents to help stage a protest of toys at the actual park site, so that they could gather in large numbers and protest instead of people during the pandemic. |
