Story | In a culture of celebrating the carefully crafted selfie, there is nothing more beautiful, more revealing, or more disarming than a real authentic smile. This is particularly true for our target audience of millennials and generation Z, who have grown up using other people’s social media feeds as a barometer for happiness. Milk helps to naturally grow bright and healthy teeth, so World Champion Slam poet Harry Baker performs a poem as an ode to the moments when they’re put on show. We approached a diverse group of young people from around Auckland City to capture authentic moments in our documentary-style film. The piece focuses on the transition a person makes between reflection, and breaking into an unaffected grin. We highlighted this genuine interaction where people can’t help but bare their teeth to illustrate the connection between candid joy and a unique, natural smile. |
