Tagline | How would the only site have looked like if the internet were invented in Communist Romania. |
Story | The "Pegas" bicycle brand was born during the not so cool Romanian Communism. But it became a love mark back then (probably because it was a good product in times when choices were very thin). In order to make this heritage relevant to our young audience today (overwhelmed with choices), we created The Internet of the People. The first ever website to show how the internet would’ve been like, if invented in Communist Romania - the Pegas bicycles’ glory days. |
Philosophy | The internet Of The People – the first ever website to show how the internet would’ve been like, if invented in the communist era. (A retro-cool journey through the Pegas heritage, combining all Romanian communism had to offer with today’s web, meant to provide the brand an identity youngsters would embrace.) |
Problem | Back in communist Romania, Pegas was the only bicycle brand and then it disappeared for 22 years. So how to make the former communist bike as desirable as it was for the people back then, but for today’s main target – urban youngsters, born after 1990? |
Result | The website became a social and mass media conversation hot topic, generating: - 23% increase of the Facebook fan base - 323.000 euro worth of free media - over 10 000 000 impressions. But most importantly, it helped Pegas sell-out the remaining bike stock and register pre-orders for 24% of their nest year’s collection. |
