‘Celebrate at home. Or Celebrate with us. Happy Ramadan.’
Story
Our story is about a little kid who is upset that she can’t go to McDonald’s to break her fast along with her family for Ramadan. But mom and the whole family takes extra effort to surprise the kid out of the blue. For the love for the kid and also for the love from the brand and the memory attached to it, they create a small make shift McDonald’s at their home with home objects. They also order food via McDelivery and surprise the kid and they all together break their fast at dawn. At the end the dad takes them to actual McDonald’s (drive thru) in a car to get some more ice creams.
Philosophy
Adults can understand the situation of pandemic and current tough outside world, but kids can’t. Problem
Due to the pandemic during this Ramadan also many families opted not to venture out. Though things are not fully closed but still there is hesitation to go out and celebrate the festival, eat outside and follow other outdoor rituals like people used to. Kids and families love to break their fast at McDonald’s and enjoy the whole evening there. But many Indonesian families will miss going to McDonald’s to break their fast during this month though it’s very popular affair to go to McDonald’s and celebrate the ritual. Though the restaurant is not closed and its open with lot of health protocols and regulations.
