Story Home is supposed to be a safe place, a shelter providing physical and mental comfort. For victims of domestic violence home means the exact opposite.Esslingen county reports more than 400 emergency calls for physical conflicts between couples each year – estimated numbers of unrecorded cases being much higher. Mental abuse in relationships is also a very prominent issue leaving no openly visible traces. Commissioned by the district office of Esslingen county, the billboard campaign aims at raising public awareness while addressing the topic in a sensitive matter. By means of typography and graphic design, the campaign visuals emphasize that home and horror can be closely related.
