About me

Rich has an extensive background in planning with over 12 years of experience in behavior planning. He joined BBDO from Boston where he was most recently Director of Global Insights and Innovation at Brand USA, a dedicated group formed in 2011 to promote travel to the U.S. Throughout his career, he has been single-mindedly focused on understanding consumers in order to create highly creative and effective marketing messages that resonate with target audiences and, most importantly, result in behavioral change.


Rich began his career as a Planner for Leo Burnett, before taking on roles at GSD&M Idea City, Arnold Worldwide and Mullen Unbound. He was also the Founder and "Chief Instigator" of his own consultancy, The Artful Monkey. Clients he has worked with include McDonald’s, Google, CVS, Chili’s, Barnes & Noble, Krispy Kreme, Altoids, Southwest Airlines, Nickelodeon and Coors Brewing, to name a few. Rich is a Carnegie Mellon Fellow and a graduate of Oberlin College.
