Brief | Germany is one of very few countries in the world where individual fireworks are still allowed on New Year’s Eve.Everyone over 18 can legally buy fireworks on the last three days of the year. For retailers this is a multi-million dollar business opportunity.Just as in many other countries testing fireworks is legally not possible. That’s why ALDI gave people a fun opportunity to digitally configure their special New Year’s Eve fireworks.The online configurator allowed users to create their own fireworks choreography by selecting and combining single products. After the configuration process users could launch their personal choreography and watch it in real-time with real-life film sequences and sounds. They could configure until the display matches their wishes.Finally customers could put their selected articles on their hit list, print them out or share them by email or WhatsApp and use them to buy the items. |
