luis was born in 1970 in rio de janeiro, half german - half portuguese.
he gained experience in various departments of the film business – as set dresser, set builder, boom operator and recording engineer – before he joined the camera department, working as a camera assistant in the beginning.
since 1994 he worked successfully as director of photography as well as director/dop on numerous short films, feature films, documentaries, music videos and commercials.
to work with luis is a pleasure. he is fast, polite and always charming beside his enormous experience and technical know how he supports on each project. no matter where it is or which format for. we like his variety of different camera styles he uses to support each project in a creative way.
he is a very charismatic, multitasking and sensitive dop with lots of energy.

luis lives with his family in munich and near lisbon and speaks german, english and portuguese.
