| Hamburg sanitation department is suffering of a lack of recognition. It remains unnoticed unless the workers go on strike. So it has been decided to create a project that generates credibility among the community and gives the garbage men a real place in the city. Garbagemen have a particular view on their city. So it has been decided to help them spread it: two big trash-containers have been transformed with giant pinhole cameras and printers. The Sanitary workers have made beautiful black and white pictures of their favourite places in Hamburg. The photos have been exhibited in the most important contemporary art museum of Hamburg and published in big German magazines. The information and pictures have been picked up in several medias including TV and worldwide. The Trash-cam project made Hamburg citizens proud of their sanitary department and bring the sanitary department a better reputation. | |
