If you recycle – and we very much hope you do – you may have found yourself perplexed by what might be called “the yoghurt pot conundrum.” Sure, the plastic pot goes in the plastic bin. But what if the label is made of paper? And where does that foil lid go? Apparently even the Germans, world champion recyclers, get confused. So supermarket chain ALDI decided to help them out. “Tips For the Bin” are simple illustrations on the store’s own-brand packaging that give clear instructions about where you should place the elements of each item. An educational tool that also reinforces ALDI’s eco-responsible commitments. Let’s hope other stores recycle the idea.
