Carat, the number one global media network and leader in digital and diversified media solutions, announced today it has been named the U.S. media agency of record for Anki, the pioneering robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) company. The win adds to Carat’s existing scope with the brand in the UK and Germany.
Anki has tasked Carat with servicing media strategy, planning and buying to support the company’s consumer robotics products including their hit battle-racing game, Anki OVERDRIVE. Named one of the Top 50 Most Innovative Companies in 2015 by Fast Company, Anki is dedicated to bringing consumer robotics into everyday life, building on decades of scientific research to make AI accessible to everyone.
“We’re excited to have Carat onboard as we continue to expand on our products, creating new entertainment experiences that are powered by technology that was previously confined to robotics labs and research institutes,” said Craig Rechenmacher, Chief Marketing Officer, Anki. “Carat understands our brand and the market, and we look forward to partnering with them to help build awareness for our growing business.”
Carat was selected for the business based on their experience working with companies within the Silicon Valley and San Francisco community, including their past experience on clients including Sony PlayStation and Sony Mobile as well as Disney Parks and Resorts. Carat’s focus on superior audience insights, strength in data and analytics, and ability to be agile and accountable were all huge assets in the decision.
“Working with one of the top artificial intelligence companies will greatly strengthen our ability to service the start-up and technology communities moving forward,” said Michael Epstein, President and Chief Client Officer, Carat USA. “Anki’s innovative approach is greatly aligned with our own agency ethos – they couldn’t be a more perfect match.”
The first campaigns will be launching this summer.
