Creative Director at Blood Global

About me

Experienced creative director, who loves working across different disciplines to create innovative work for clients.

I believe the more a brand gives, the more it gets back. So be generous.

I’ve had the privilege of working at some great companies at great times. Leading Guardian Labs, the commercial department of one of the UK’s most highly regarded news organisations has given me unparalleled insight into the world of publishing and content.

As a creative Director in both pureplay digital and integrated agencies, I’ve overseen the creation of an array of bespoke digital experiences, with executions covering social, video (online, live and interactive), games, physical digital, VR & AR and more. I also developed a keen interest in digital product development and software as a service.

10 years cutting my teeth at St Lukes, during the height of its powers, taught me the value of thinking strategically, the importance of executional focus and the power of great brands.

Along the way I’ve won industry awards: Cannes Lions, D&AD pencils, Webbies, Creative Circle awards (and more). Recently, I’ve also had work featured in the Big Bang Data exhibition at Somerset House, named one of the Best Animated Short Film on the internet, picked up by the German Design Museum and shown at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

I <3 copywriting
I <3 making things that do stuff
I <3 helping people understand the world better

I also <3 90’s house, polished pop and AAA gaming.

London, United Kingdom
June 2009 - May 2011 (1 year 11 months)
Worked alongside the Head of Digital Strategy, Laurence Parkes, with a joint mission of improving the digital output of WCRS, both in terms of quality and quantity. I’m pleased to say we managed a bit of both.

Along the way we also created some great digital work for previously ATL only clients, Weetabix, Sky News, Sky Broadband, Churchill and The Sun.
Head of Copy / Creative Director
Agency Republic
March 2007 - June 2009 (2 years 3 months)
Agency Republic taught me an enormous amount in a very short space of time. Initially responsible for quality control of all copy within the agency, twelve months in I was promoted to Creative Director. Starting with three major accounts; PlayStation, BBC and BP, I subsequently landed a further three new business wins in just over a year.

I got to work with some fabulous people and created some of the agency’s most awarded work.
Copywriter
London, United Kingdom
July 1996 - December 2006 (10 years 5 months)
A great place to start my career, working under the magnificent Kate Stanners and Tim Hearn. They taught me the value of hard work and great craft.

In my time there I got to work on clients like Sky, Eurostar, The Electoral Commission, HSBC, Boots, BT, Clarks shoes and The Observer. Producing TV and print work I’m still proud of today. And having a lot of fun doing it. Good times.
