Elliott Lester is a multi-disciplinary director with a deep love for storytelling in all its forms. He began his career as an award winning music video and commercial director, taking home Clios, Telly Awards and Cannes Lions for his work. Elliott has done work for major brands including McDonald's, Lexus and Sony and has directed iconic videos for artists including 30 Seconds to Mars, The Fray and Santigold.
Elliott’s most recent feature the double-Emmy and Golden Globe nominated ’Nightingale' was produced by Brad Pitt’s Plan B and stars David Oyelowo. The film premiered on HBO to rave reviews and earned David a “Best Actor” win at the Critic’s Choice Awards. ‘Nightingale’ has been described by the critics as ‘ Riveting… Spellbinding…Masterful’ - The Hollywood Reporter. David Oyelowo’s performance is ‘Nothing less then Amazing’ New York Times, and has been nominated for a Golden Globe for 'Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television'.
In 2015 Elliott completed his next feature film SLEEPWALKER starring Ahna O’Reilly and Richard Armitage. As well as directing, he also recently produced two feature films: “Basmati Blues” which stars the award winning Brie Larson and Donald Sutherland, as well as “Captive” which stars David Oyelowo and Kate Mara.
