Story | Ancestry, the global leader in family history and consumer genomics, harnesses the information found in family trees, historical records, and DNA to help people gain a new level of understanding about their lives. This brand campaign aims to show how generations of ancestors help make us who we are today.The dramatised, yet factually accurate film tells the story of a family’s journey through the generations as we traverse German history: it begins at the end of the 19th century with a family that moves from the Stettin countryside to Berlin and continues with their son witnessing WWI. His daughter’s Jewish husband is then deported during WWII before their daughter is born. She is then part of the economic boom and is later separated from her husband by the Berlin Wall. In 1989 the family is reunited. All these experiences are reflected in their present-day descendant. |
