Story | A little girl dresses up as different characters: A pirate, a nurse, a clown, a beatnik, and finally as a bumblebee. |
Philosophy | This campaign aims to promote equality and tolerance by suggesting that we all have the right to be who we are. The message is conveyed by depicting a little girl dressing up as different characters. We see her playing with different personalities, notions of femininity and masculinity and (metaphorically speaking) possible future identities. The campaign conveys the premise that we all would want our children to be themselves and to have a future of equality and personal possibilities and thereby arguing that this should apply to every human being in society. |
Problem | Everyone is entitled to participate equally in civil life irrespective of age, disability, gender, racial or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, religion or faith. Nevertheless, a number of people don't feel they can be who they are or live how they would want to live since they are being met with intolerance from certain parts of the society. |
Result | This campaign was commissioned by The Danish Institute for Human Rights as a part of their ongoing work against exclusion and intolerance in society. The film spot has been seen by 1/4 of the Danish population. A survey indicates a significant awareness of the work done by The Danish Institute for Human Rights on the subject and a particularly positive response to the film spot indicating modified public attitudes on the subject. |
