Guillaume Rigal

Agency Director, Paris at Stein IAS

About me

I am a geek. I have loved the Digital space since my first Lycos search. I launched online services, and joined many more. I like to share my vision of the trends in marketing and digital, in person, on linkedin or on my blog.

I am a driven marketer. With a love for the Bernbach, Wells and Ogilvy era. And a curiosity and will to use the technical jewels of our time allowing us to create, distribute and measure like rarely before.

I am a launcher. I launched 2 startups as well as internal ventures (at American Express) and rebrands (Effinity). Everytime managing from a strong go-to-market strategy to brochure details.

I am a team leader, experienced in hiring and growing marketing and sales talents. From my Amex days, I know how to foster a relaxed and committed atmosphere in cross-functional international teams through openness and diplomacy.

I am a business developer. From managing partnerships and a portfolio of thousands of small businesses at American Express to signing and retaining large accounts as Head of B2B at Effinity.

I am also astute and obstinate when it comes to generating leads and closing business.

I am a creative and engaging public speaker. I speak English fluently, French too fast and German poorly, as well as Agency and Corporate lingo.

I am an engineer and a London Business School MBA, always keen to to analyze, understand and develop products and solutions.

I am a loyal business manager. I have really only worked in 3 companies and still advise Simplify which I co-founded in 2003. I have strong work ethics and equally strong values.

I am a fast and eager learner. I quickly adapt and acquire the skills I need. I also know how to prioritize, pick my battles and focus.

I am the Director of Stein IAS in Paris, an agency specialising in BtoB marketing. We are devoted to building brands and generating business for our clients through unique insights, powerful creatives and sharp contact strategies.

Make Advertising F**king Great Again
January 2017 - Present (2 years)
I have been a marketer for 15 years, at a blue chip company and in agencies. And I wonder everyday how our society can produce and tolerate so much crap passing as advertising. There are books filled with brilliant, intelligent, engaging ads from the past. And you can still catch brilliant ads in the wild. But it's like most advertisers have given up in face of complexity, bureaucracy and mediocrity. So what happened? What basic formula do professionals have to get on track to producing ads that consumers will enjoy (as much as that is still possible) and that will make advertisers’ cash registers ring?
