Nadine Traylor

Senior Creative Lead at Duke Advertising
South Africa

About me

Nadine is an internationally award-winning Conceptional Writer, Creative Director (Copy & Digi), and Digital Producer with extensive experience in both advertising and publishing.

Starting as an editorial intern at ELLE Magazine South Africa and a quick stunt as fashion intern for ELLE Netherlands, her hard-work ethic and intense passion for all things “culture” and “the arts”, propelled her up the ladder to head up Entertainment and Pop-culture. After substantially contributing to the success and circulation of ELLE magazine, she set her sights on New York City.

Following, Nadine contributed to the editorial team at Rolling Stone Magazine and played an integral part in creating successful campaigns, synergising partnerships between talented musicians and the right brands - at the same time exceeding PR and Marketing KPI's through magazine exposure. (Notable successes include Clio Awards; Cyber Lions, a Silver Pencil and a few Webbies.)

This fast-paced, enigmatic world of advertising was the perfect incubator for Nadine’s creative sparks to conjure up magical concepts, which she continued at J. Walter Thompson (now Wunderman Thompson) wearing many hats: Conceptual Copywriter, Creative Director (Digital), and Influencer liaison.

Fast forward, Nadine most recently bounced ideas around at DUKE Agency, servicing Africa and the Middle East. Not only did the agency blossom into "Medium Agency of the Year 2021" (AdFocus), but she also wrote and executed a campaign (#DalaYourColour) that won the agency a Silver and Bronze Loerie Award (the highest accolade for creativity and innovation in advertising across the African and Middle Eastern region); an IAB Bookmark; Gold and Silver Creative Circle Awards (2021); and a Gold MMA Smartie Award.

#FightTheGoodFight, her most recent campaign is currently shortlisted for a One Show Pencil.

In her spare time, Nadine pushes boundaries bouncing magical ideas around with friends on exciting personal projects - some fun work has been published in the Lürzer's Archive (as recent as 2021 - 2022).

She also launched an online pop culture magazine based on African artists and musicians, which signed a content-sharing partnership with Independent Media & IOL.co.za, the largest publisher of print material in South Africa.

At the moment Nadine consults and wears her wordsmith hat (more like a magical fascinator) for exiting client-specific briefs, where she always makes sure she: treats each brief as an opportunity to deliver groundbreaking, jaw-dropping, never-done-before ideas for the digital and physical worlds.
