A devout art director, Bill shares the responsibility with Richard Kirshenbaum for overseeing every communications piece which leaves the agency. Bill is a strong advocate of the concept of having one "look" throughout an integrated advertising campaign, and he has given many speeches on the subject. Bill's background includes McCann Erickson and Lord, Dentsu & Partner. Richard is co-creative director. Bill's experience in investment services includes Quick & Reilly, Charles Schwab, Bear Stearns and Neuberger & Berman.
As of 9-30-08, McCann Erickson, New York executive creative director Bill Oberlander is headed to Cossette Communications' New York office to take the role of chief creative officer.
In nearly three years at McCann, Oberlander was responsible for notable work from the Ad Council and Nikon, working on the latter's "Picturetown" effort. Oberlander also has ECD stops at Ogilvy & Mather and Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners on his resume, the latter for 11 years running through the '90s.
