| Philosophy | Every Christmas, many people use social media to share their wishlists and ask for the best gifts for themselves. But specially in a moment with less hope and a lot of complains about the main social issues possible in Brazil, what if everybody get together to desire something that causes a deep reflection in our own attitudes? Supergasbras, one of the biggest cooking and natural gas company in the country, had transformed it’s Christmas campaign on an invitation for their consumers to share their best wishes for the world, for the people and for their own lives. The movement was created by Rapp Brazil and inspired by their concept “We innovate to renew your energy”, which leads the entire brand’s communication. They began by asking to the followers what would be their more pure desires to live in a better world. After more than 17,000 comments, the agency selected the best ones to form a single and collaborative letter with over a meter long, containing a truly and rewarding request. After only 4 days, the campaign reached 3 million views, 98k reactions and 28,7k share in Supergasbras social media channels, sharing more than a commercial Christmas ad, but a hopeful message that all Brazilians could put their energy on. “This year, I don't want a gift for myself. I want something much bigger. Something that makes everyone really happy. I wish people understand we are all human beings, independently of color, religion, political party, soccer team and sexual orientation. And this is only possible with more love in the world. None of us is better than all of us. We need peace among people, happiness along our friends, neighbors and relatives, and a better world for all. Because we deserve to be happy. I want more peace, harmony, humbleness, comprehension, charity, respect and a lot of prosperity. May we all think about everyone, respecting differences. And this means we accept and deem as fair all kinds of love. We need to do for others what we want others to do for us. Only then will changes take place! May we be more humanitarian, helping those who need decent jobs with salaries that are fair to their occupation, and may women perform the same tasks and receive exactly the same salary than men. More fraternity between all creatures in this planet. We need more forgiveness and less lies. Zero violence and unemployment. Enough of prejudices: everyone should have the right to come and go. May we all think before we speak so we don't hurt anyone. More unity, respect with the elderly and may all children love their parents and siblings. And no one should forget: honesty and character, always! May we all have the same rights: the poor, the rich, black and white, from all creeds and origins. A country with no social inequality, corruption, violence. A country with safety, education and quality health care. May no one be so rich that they can buy justice! May no one be so poor that they need to sell it! I wish for justice today and tomorrow. I want to make peace with the people I hurt and the ones who hurt me. I wish there's a big smile on the faces of every child, especially the neediest. I want cleanliness in everyone's soul and in the planet: in the seas, the rivers and in our forests. This is fundamental. Cleanliness for survival. I wish the entire world has food, that no one live under bridges and that there are no cold and sick people. May all wars end and children live with dignity. May we all have more jobs, health and comprehension. May we stop being selfish and help those who are in need: there are a lot of people in need. May the human being stop mistreating animals, they're pure and deserve all our affection. Finally: only positive things in our lives in each new dawn! Finally, I wish our people can live with more dignity. I ask for willingness, so we can face whatever challenges may come and that we have our daily bread at home every day. May 2018 end in peace and celebration, and may 2019 come with safety, health and happiness so we can take pride in saying: ‘I am Brazilian’.” |
